Pastor's Business Card

This is for the many of you out there who are dreading the start of school again tomorrow after a nice long spring break....cheers!

Pastor's Business Card

A new pastor was visiting in the homes of his parishioners. At one house it seemed obvious that someone was at home, but no answer came to his repeated knocks at the door.

Therefore, he took out a business card and wrote "Revelation 3:20" on the back of it and stuck it in the door.

When the offering was processed the following Sunday, he found that his card had been returned. Added to it was this cryptic message, "Genesis 3:10."

Reaching for his Bible to check out the citation, he broke up in gales of laughter. Revelation 3:20 begins "Behold, I stand at the door and knock." Genesis 3:10 reads, "I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid for I was naked."

Hahaha...just for laughs and hopefully to lighten your spirits up. Have a safe and blessed week ahead!!

"A cheerful heart is good medicine." (Prov. 17:22)

Cheers,
brybry

Why we go to church?

An encouragement to some of my discouraged friends/readers who may be having a hard time or week...

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. "I've gone for 30 years now," he wrote, "and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all."

This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column. Much to the delight of the editor, it went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher: "I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this... They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!"

When you are DOWN to nothing....God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment!

May this be a blessing and a refreshing of the soul to you, my friends. Remember, in times of hardship, temptations or trials we have a choice - give praise, or give up! When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, "Jesus, could you get that for me?"

The lyrics to the song "Give Me Words to Speak" by Aaron Shust is a great example of surrendering it all to Christ...check it out:

Calloused and bruised, dazed and confused
My Spirit is left wanting something more
Than my selfish hopes, and my selfish dreams
I’m lying with my face down to the floor
I’m crying out for more
Give me Words to speak
Don’t let my Spirit sleep
Cause I can’t think of anything worth saying
But I know that I owe You my life
So give me Words to speak
Don’t let my Spirit sleep
Every night, every day
I find that I have nothing left to say
So I stand here in silence awaiting Your guidance
I’m wanting only Your voice to be heard
Let them be Your Words
I just don’t understand this life that I’ve been living
I just don’t understand (x2)
I just don’t understand these lies I’ve been believing
I just don’t understand (x2)

God bless...

Hail Storm!!!!!

Seriously...a hail storm is going on outside as I'm writing this blog...was in my room when I heard loud banging sound on the roof...I thought the rain was coming down hard. What the heck...I looked out my window and these BALLS of ICE were hitting my window!! Dang it...it's hailing outside...n' I am frantically worrying about my car...cuz I've heard of serious hail damage on vehicles...!! But I dare not walk out right now...those hail balls could hurt like hell if you get hit...check out the pics I took from the backyard door....

Gosh...still hailing outside...hoping everything will be just fine...LOL...those balls of hail look like they would make a good cup of milk tea...or it reminds me of the tapioca balls...hahaha...my mind's wondering towards food again...

Anyways...Happy Chinese New Year to all of my friends back in Sibu!! Hoping you'll all have a blessed time and eat lots lots for me. Don't forgot to send me my angpow, OK!!!...hahaha...

God's love...

Sometimes as Christians we tend to lose track of our faith...and we moan and groan about petty things in our lives...and blame God from time to time when things don't go our way. We complain about how unfair God is towards us...and that He does not care about us...and yet we often overlook the biggest sacrifice that He made for all of us on this earth...the sacrifice of His one and only Son. This video is definitely an eye-opener and a reminder for me of the greatest gift and sacrifice that God had made for each and every one of us...check it out:

Hope this will help many of us out there who struggle from time to time with our daily lives...and hopefully will serve as a great reminder as well as inspiration for us to continue to lean on God and to trust in Him to provide for us in everything that we do.

Wishing everyone a blessed week ahead...and may God continue to work in you through His mysterious but powerful ways!

p/s - For those of you who are looking for a great online Christian radio station...try www.ksbj.org - it's been a blessing for me the past 2 years.

Market Street...

OK...I know I just posted a blog on my recent illness...or so to speak. But that did not hinder my Saturday...no no no!! Well..the day didn't start out as planned...as usual...we were planned to visit an orphanage to day...n' had some community service planned for us. We arrived at the orphanage around 10.30am...half hour late...I know...n' it literally looked like a ghost town. The place was EMPTY!! I mean...first of all...we drove about 45 minutes...out towards nowhere...or actually...out towards the country life...YES YES...I actually saw cows...chickens...n' horses...hahaha!! OK...it's rare to see these things...especially if you live in The Woodlands...so hold ur comments...LOL!!

Anywayzz...we got there...the office was locked..so we called the office number. Long story short...we did not get to do anything. Apparently the guy that was suppose to meet up with us and give us a head start on the project was nowhere to be found...nor could anyone contact him. So we headed home...a bunch of disappointed kids in the car...n' headed over to Eric's brand new townhome...woot!!

So the morning was a waste of time...the afternoon...well...we ended going "shopping"...for the new bachelor pad...YEAHH~! well...technically speaking...it ain't a bachelor pad since they are getting married in less than 26 days...yes yes~...!! hahaha...so we were hunting for a nice rug to go in the living room...we checked out Bed, Bath n' Beyond...found one...but Penny didn't like it..."not soft enough" was the reason...hiakz! man...who cares....well..of course for us guys...as long as it looks good and functions as it's suppose to...HEY...that's the one! So we decided to try out World Market...nvm...the selection was even worse...I would rather sit on some old rags...than to sit on the rugs they had on display...they were rough n' scratchy as heck!! LOL...checked out Zales on Market Street. OK...this is by far our favorite furniture store...both Eric' n' I found our "fav couch" there...hahahaha....of course...the price was as luxurious as the furniture was...darn it~!

OK...so we didn't end up finding a rug that matched both taste n' price...so....hahaha...guess what...we headed home...LOL...but hey...I got to have fun with Penny's youngest brother, Jack...lol...he's 6 I think??? He's the cutest thing...LOL..of course...he's mixed...half caucasian...hlaf chinese. I got poked..or "tickled" by him...the whole day...my abd. hurts now..hahha...! Innocent at first glance...but hey...just look at the pic...LOLLL

OK OK...so I guess I had a lousy Saturday this week...but hey....I'm not feeling exactly up to par anyways with my scratchy throat n' all...n' YES...I would like an instant cure if anybody has one in mind...PLSSSS!!! hmmm...I think I'm off to bed...loads of rest might help...hopefully...

sick!!!

I am SICK!!! man...I can't believe my body finally gave in...and decided to turn on me. My throat is feeling extremely scratchy n' raw right now...and the thing is...I don't even know how it all started!! of course...I was around a whole bunch of "sick" people last night...Tara, Penny and Tham were all down with sinus infections/cough...but I tried to stay away...and I guess it did not work. LOL...I am so desperate to NOT lose my voice...so I'm popping cough drops every 5 minutes...hahahaha!! I think I need some traditional Sibu remedies...what herbs are good for sinus problems...or cough???? ginseng...?? hahaha...tongkat ali????!?!?! lolll...I really hope it doesn't get any worse than this... pls pls pls pls pls....LOLLLL...ppl...pls pray for quick healing for me....I'd sure appreciate that!!!
